The last Norwegian
minting of coins for one hundred years
Olav IV Håkonsson (1380-1387) issued Norwegian bracteates with a crowned monogram. After the death of the child king in 1387, there are no confirmed examples of Norwegian coins until the reign of King Hans(1483-1513). At a national council in Oslo in 1437, a demand was made for "local
coins in the kingdom". This was probably a demand for resuming the issuing
and actual minting of coins in Norway
