Year 1387

The last Norwegian minting of coins for one hundred years

Olav IV Håkonsson (1380-1387) issued Norwegian bracteates with a crowned monogram. After the death of the child king in 1387, there are no confirmed examples of Norwegian coins until the reign of King Hans(1483-1513).

At a national council in Oslo in 1437, a demand was made for "local coins in the kingdom". This was probably a demand for resuming the issuing and actual minting of coins in Norway
