In 1852, 45 coins were found in St. Olav's Field (St. Olavs Voll) in Sarpsborg, in Østfold. The so-called St. Olav's Field was situated in the medieval town of Borg, now called Sarpsborg.

The find included one Byzantine miliarsion, 39 German pennies, three Anglo-Saxon pennies, one Scandinavian imitation of the Anglo-Saxon penny and one Norwegian penny that was issued between 1047 and 1055, during the reign of Harald Hardråde.
