 		 In 1848, 16 Danish klippen, minted in the years 1518-1523 under Christian II, were found at Melleby in Ås, Akershus.

Mint records from the time when Mint-master Jørgen Koch held office in Malmø, shows that a total of more than 60 million such klippen must have been struck. Less than one hundred have been found in Norway. The find from Melleby is the largest Norwegian hoard of such coins.
