On 18
and 19 December 1972, 33 coins were found in the course of archaeological
excavations that were carried out in connection with reconstruction of
the floor in the quire and apse of Hurum Church in Buskerud.
A few of the coins are Danish or German. The majority of the coins are
from the Middle Ages, the oldest being bracteates
from the reign of Håkon Håkonsson
(1217-1263).
