In 1933, 363 Danish and Norwegian coins, dating from 1736 to 1845, were found by the boundary marker between Austli and Nossan at Alstadhaug in Nord-Trøndelag. Of these coins, 67 were silver and 296 were copper.

The fact that the hoard was deposited by a landmark suggests that the owner intended to reclaim his hidden capital but was somehow prevented from doing so. In this case it is not likely that the owner would have forgotten where the coins were buried.
