Alstahaug Church in Nordland 
 
 
 

 

 In 1967, 386 coins were found during archaeological excavations under the quire and the eastern part of the nave of Alstahaug Church in Nordland. Another 33 coins were found during excavation of the burial chamber in the quire in 1968, and 16 more were found in 1968 by a workman who was repairing the south wall of the burial chamber in the quire. A further 84 coins were found in 1969 during excavations in the western part of the nave in connection with reconstruction work on the floors.
